remote

remote的意思是远离的、遥远的、长远的、路远的、关系疏远的、冷淡的、不热情的、远程的、不在场^[1][2]^。

remote可作形容词、名词，也可作副词。remote作形容词时，意思是“遥远的，偏僻的；关系不深的，疏远的；冷淡的”。例句：His behaviour showed a remote interest in what was said. 他的行为显示出对别人谈论的话题不感兴趣。

作副词时意思是“遥远地、长期地”。例句：The school is remote from the city center. 学校位于市中心的郊区。
